Services Terms

Last updated: 15 September 2026

These terms apply when TKJ Global Media Ltd, including under its trading name TKJ Media UK, designs or builds a website for you, looks after a website under a care plan, produces digital media or content for you, or builds bespoke software for you. Please read them before you pay a deposit, subscribe to a plan, book a service or accept a quote.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.

1. Who we are

TKJ Global Media Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 08272919. TKJ Media UK is a trading name of TKJ Global Media Ltd. Registered office: 94 Queen Elizabeth Road, Wakefield, WF1 4RJ. VAT registration number GB282231226. ICO registration ZC223758.

Contact us at support@tkjglobalmedia.com or on 0333 014 6065.

2. What these terms cover, and what comes first

These terms cover:

  • website design and development packages (Starter, Professional, and E-commerce & Custom);
  • website care and hosting plans (Essential Care and Growth Care);
  • digital media and content: video production, videography, photography, social media management, copywriting and podcasts; and
  • bespoke software and enterprise services, including applications for law firms.

Every project also has a written quote or proposal setting out exactly what we will do, for how much and by when. If your quote or proposal says something different from these terms, the quote or proposal applies.

3. Business customers and consumers

Most of our clients buy for a business. Where a part of these terms applies only to business customers, it says so.

If you are an individual buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a consumer. You have extra rights, explained in section 14, and nothing in these terms limits them.

4. Website projects: deposits, quotes and when your contract starts

Paying a deposit online. Our packages have starting prices. When you pay a 50% deposit online, you are asking us to book your free consultation and reserve time for your project in our schedule.

Your fixed quote. After the consultation, we send you a fixed, itemised quote. You decide whether to accept it. If you do not accept it, we refund your deposit in full. You do not have to give a reason.

When your contract starts. The contract for building your website starts when you accept the quote in writing. An email is enough. We do not start building until then.

If your quote is higher than the starting price. Your deposit is 50% of the agreed price. If the quote is higher than the package’s starting price, we invoice the difference needed to bring your deposit up to 50%, and the build starts once it is paid.

If you did not pay a deposit online. If we quote for you first, for example for enterprise work, we invoice the 50% deposit when you accept the quote.

5. Prices, VAT and paying us

  • Prices on our websites are starting prices or fixed package prices, and exclude VAT. We add VAT at the rate that applies when you pay, currently 20% in the UK. If you buy for a business based outside the UK, UK VAT may not apply, and checkout asks for your VAT or tax number.
  • Website projects: the balance is due before launch. We invoice the balance when your site is ready, and put it live once that invoice is paid.
  • Invoices are payable within 14 days unless your quote says otherwise.
  • Card and Bacs Direct Debit payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Business customers: if an invoice is overdue, we may claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and we may pause work until it is paid. We will always remind you before we do either.

6. What is included, and changes

Your quote sets out the pages, features, integrations and timetable for your project. If you want something that is not in the quote, we tell you what it will cost and how it affects the timetable. We do the extra work only once you have agreed in writing.

7. What we need from you

To keep your project on time, we need you to:

  • provide content (text, images and logos) that you own or have permission to use, and that is lawful;
  • give us access to the accounts we need, such as your domain, existing hosting, email or other services;
  • give feedback and approvals promptly, normally within 5 working days of our request; and
  • if you are a law firm or other regulated business, supply the regulatory information your website must display, such as price and service information required by the SRA Transparency Rules. You remain responsible for its accuracy.

If we are waiting for something from you, the timetable moves by the same amount of time. If a project is paused at your request, or because we have not heard from you, for more than 60 days, we may invoice for the work done so far and restart the project when you are ready, subject to our schedule.

8. Reviewing your site and signing it off

  • We build on a private staging site so that you can review, test and request changes before anything goes live.
  • Your package includes rounds of design revisions: Starter 1, Professional 2, E-commerce & Custom 3, unless your quote says otherwise. We quote for any further rounds before doing them.
  • When your site is ready, we ask you to review it. Tell us about anything that does not match the quote and we will fix it. Your site is signed off when you approve it for launch.

9. Launch and support after launch

We handle go-live, redirects and training. After launch, we fix defects free of charge, meaning anything that does not work as your quote describes, for:

  • 30 days for Starter websites;
  • 60 days for Professional websites; and
  • 90 days for E-commerce & Custom websites.

This free support does not cover new features, changes made to the site by you or anyone else, or problems caused by third-party services or updates outside our control. A care plan covers ongoing updates, and we quote separately for anything else.

10. Who owns your website

  • Once you have paid in full, you own the design, content and code that we create specifically for you, and we transfer our intellectual property rights in them to you. We will sign any document you reasonably need to confirm this. Until you have paid in full, you may use them to review your project.
  • Your domain name is registered in your name, or transferred to you, and it is always yours.
  • Third-party components, such as WordPress, themes, plugins, fonts, stock images and open-source code, belong to their owners and are licensed to you on their own terms. Where a component needs a paid licence, it is put in your name or we tell you the cost before you commit.
  • Our own tools, meaning reusable code, frameworks and methods that we developed independently and use across projects, remain ours. We give you a permanent, free licence to use them as part of your website or software.
  • No lock-in. If you move to another provider, we give you a full copy of your website files and database, and any access details we hold for you. Further help with moving may be chargeable, and we will tell you the cost first.
  • Our portfolio. We may show your launched website in our portfolio and case studies, unless you ask us not to.

11. Care and hosting plans

How the plans work. Care plans are monthly subscriptions. You pay in advance, by card or Bacs Direct Debit, on the same date each month. Prices exclude VAT.

What is included.

  • Essential Care: managed hosting and SSL, daily off-site backups, core, theme and plugin updates, and uptime and security monitoring.
  • Growth Care: everything in Essential Care, plus 2 hours of content edits a month, a monthly SEO and performance report, and priority support. Unused hours do not carry over to the next month.

Cancel any time. You can cancel through the customer account link we send you, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not take any further payments, and we do not refund part-months. If you are a consumer, section 14 also applies.

Hosting and backups. We use reputable hosting providers and take reasonable steps to keep your site available and secure. No website can be guaranteed to be free of interruptions, however, and planned maintenance or failures by providers outside our control may cause downtime. We keep daily backups for at least 30 days, and we restore your site from them if something goes wrong.

Fair use. Hosting is for your website only. We may temporarily suspend a site that is sending spam, hosting malware or unlawful content, or putting other sites at risk. If we do, we tell you why and restore the site once the problem is fixed.

Missed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries it again and we let you know. If it is still unpaid 14 days after we tell you, we may pause the care services. We give you at least a further 14 days’ notice before taking a site offline, so that you can pay or move the site.

Price changes. We give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

When a plan ends. On request, we give you a full backup of your site and help you move it to your new host.

12. Digital media and content

This section covers video production, videography, photography, social media management, copywriting and podcasts.

Fixed prices and quotes. Where a service has a fixed price, its description sets out what is included, such as the length of a shoot, the number of edited images, the running time of a video or the number of posts. We quote for everything else in writing before we start. Travel and expenses outside West Yorkshire are quoted in advance.

Booking a shoot or recording. A 50% deposit secures your date, and the balance is due when we deliver. If you need to rearrange, tell us at least 5 working days before the date and we will move it once, free of charge. If you cancel or rearrange with less notice, we may charge for costs we cannot recover, such as crew, equipment hire, studio or travel bookings. If bad weather or something else outside either of our control makes a shoot impractical, we rearrange it at no extra cost. If you are a consumer, section 14 also applies.

Locations and people. You are responsible for getting permission to film, photograph or record at locations you choose. People who feature in photographs, video or podcasts sign a release, and you help us arrange this for your staff, guests and customers. At events, you tell attendees that photography or filming will take place. We do not photograph or film children without written consent from a parent or guardian. We use content featuring people in our own portfolio only where their release allows it.

What you receive. You receive the final edited files in the formats set out in your quote. Raw footage, unedited images and working files are not included unless your quote says so. We keep project files for 90 days after delivery, after which we may delete them.

Revisions. Your quote or package sets out the rounds of changes included. We quote for further changes before making them.

Ownership and use. Once you have paid in full, you own the copyright in the final photographs, videos, copy and podcast edits that we create for you, and section 10 applies to them as it does to websites. We make sure you can edit and use them without crediting us. Stock images, stock footage, music and fonts are licensed from their owners for the uses set out in your quote; wider use may need a further licence, and we will tell you before you commit.

Social media management. Social media plans run monthly and you can cancel with 30 days’ notice. You keep ownership of, and admin access to, your social media accounts. We publish only content you have approved through the process agreed in your plan. Advertising spend is paid by you directly to the platform and is not part of our fees unless your quote says otherwise. We are not responsible for changes that platforms make to their rules, features or reach, or for their decisions to restrict or suspend an account, unless our breach of their rules caused it.

Copywriting and your claims. We write original copy and check the facts we research ourselves. You approve the final copy and remain responsible for the accuracy of claims about your business, products and services. If you are a law firm or other regulated business, you are also responsible for making sure it meets your regulator’s rules on publicity.

Podcasts. You are responsible for making sure your guests agree to be recorded and published, and we can provide a release form. Your podcast hosting and distribution accounts are in your name. Music and sound effects we use are licensed for your podcast.

13. Bespoke software and enterprise services

Bespoke applications, such as client portals, document automation and practice-management systems, are set out in a written proposal. The proposal covers deliverables, milestones, acceptance testing, payment stages, support and any licences. These terms apply to that work except where the proposal says otherwise.

Law firms and other regulated businesses. The software we build is designed to support your compliance. You remain responsible for your own regulatory obligations, however, including under the SRA Standards and Regulations. Our website and software services do not include legal advice.

14. If you are a consumer

Cancelling within 14 days. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you can cancel a contract for services at any time until the end of 14 days after the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. To cancel, email support@tkjglobalmedia.com. A clear statement that you are cancelling is enough, and there is no form to complete.

  • If you cancel before we have started work, we refund everything you have paid, including your deposit.
  • If you asked us to start work within the 14 days and then cancel, we may keep an amount that fairly reflects the work done up to the time you told us.
  • If you asked us to start within the 14 days, acknowledged that you would lose your right to cancel once the service was complete, and we have completely finished it before you cancel, you can no longer cancel it.

We refund you within 14 days of being told, to the payment method you used.

Your legal rights. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires us to provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and as we have described them. If we do not, you can ask us to put things right. If that is not possible, or we do not do it within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a price reduction, which may be the whole price. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

Our responsibility to you. If we break these terms, or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for business losses, because as a consumer you are not buying for a business.

15. Our responsibility for loss (business customers)

  • We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
  • We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • We are not liable for loss or corruption of data, except where restoring your site from our latest backup is part of your care plan and we fail to do so.
  • Our total liability to you for a project is limited to the price paid for that project. For a care plan, it is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event that gives rise to the claim.

16. Data protection

Our own use of personal data is explained in our privacy notice at https://tkjglobalmedia.co/privacy-policy/.

When we handle personal data for you. When we host or maintain your website, build or support software that handles personal data for you, manage your social media accounts, or produce content featuring people for you, you are the controller and we are your processor. This section sets out the terms required by Article 28 of the UK GDPR.

  • Details of the processing. The subject matter is the hosting, maintenance, development, support, social media or content services we provide to you. The duration is the length of those services. The nature and purpose is storing, backing up, transmitting and otherwise processing data as needed to provide them. The types of personal data, and the categories of people they relate to, are whatever your website, software, social media accounts or content involve, for example the contact details of your customers or enquirers, or images and recordings of the people who appear in your content.
  • We process the personal data only on your documented instructions, meaning these terms, your quote and your written requests, including instructions about transfers outside the UK, unless the law requires otherwise. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we tell you.
  • We make sure that anyone authorised to process the personal data is bound by confidentiality.
  • We keep the personal data secure with appropriate technical and organisational measures, as required by Article 32 of the UK GDPR.
  • You give us general authorisation to use sub-processors, such as hosting, backup and email providers. We use them only under a written contract that gives the same level of protection, we tell you in advance about any change so that you can object, and we remain responsible to you for their work.
  • If a sub-processor transfers personal data outside the UK, we make sure the transfer is protected as UK data protection law requires.
  • We help you respond to requests from people exercising their data protection rights.
  • We help you meet your obligations on security, personal data breaches, data protection impact assessments and prior consultation with the Information Commissioner. We tell you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
  • When the services end, we delete or return the personal data, as you choose, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • We give you the information you need to show that these obligations are being met, and we allow for and contribute to reasonable audits and inspections.

17. Confidentiality

We each keep the other’s confidential information confidential and use it only for the project. This does not apply to information that is already public, or where disclosure is required by law.

18. Ending a project or plan early

  • You can end a project at any time by telling us in writing. You pay a fair proportion of the quoted price for the work done up to that point. We set your deposit against that amount and refund anything left over. If you are a consumer, section 14 also applies.
  • We can end a project or plan if you do not pay an invoice within 14 days after we remind you, or if you seriously break these terms and do not put it right within 14 days of us asking. For business customers, we can also end it if you become insolvent.
  • When a project ends, we give you the work you have paid for.

19. Events outside our control

If something outside our reasonable control delays or prevents our work, such as a failure by a hosting provider, payment processor or power supplier, a cyber-attack or serious illness, we tell you, keep the delay as short as we can, and are not responsible for it. If the delay lasts more than 30 days, either of us can end the affected project or plan, and you pay only for the work already done.

20. Complaints

Tell us at support@tkjglobalmedia.com. We answer every complaint. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you can get free, impartial advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133).

21. General

  • Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. The version published on our website when you pay a deposit, subscribe or accept a quote applies to that project or plan. For care plans, we give you 30 days’ notice of any change that affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Entire agreement (business customers). These terms and your quote or proposal are the whole agreement between us about the services, and they replace anything discussed earlier. Neither of us relies on anything that is not written in them. This does not limit liability for fraud.
  • Transferring the contract. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, and we will tell you if we do. If you are a consumer and are unhappy with the transfer, you can end the contract and receive a refund for any services not yet provided. You may transfer your rights only with our written agreement.
  • Other people. Nobody else has any rights under these terms, including under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  • If part of these terms is invalid, the rest continue to apply.
  • Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
